About Eatontown,
A borough in Central/Eastern Jersey's Monmouth County, Eatontown is truly a unique community. Slightly under 6 square miles in size with a population of about 14,000 people of varying ethnicity, Eatontown is diverse in a multitude of ways. The United States Army's Fort Monmouth has been in Eatontown since 1917, and is home to the U.S. Army Materiel Command's (AMC) Communication and Electronics Command (CECOM). Fort Monmouth is also home to the United States Military Academy Preparatory School (or USMAPS), which trains about 250 students each year to enter as plebes at the United States Military Academy at West Point.
In the center of Eatontown is the Monmouth Mall, located at the intersection of Route 35 and Route 36. Monmouth Mall has a variety of stores, restaurants, and a 15-screen cinema facility. In the late 1980s and early 90s, the Mall was a known session spot for local skateboarders, including the world famous Mall planters and Slappy Curbs. Bobby Flay, the famous chef, owns a restaurant in Eatontown.
